Do I need prior missions experience?
Not at all. GDP welcomes people of all backgrounds — first-time travelers, seasoned missionaries, healthcare workers, teachers, students, and retirees. The only requirement is a willing heart and a desire to serve. GDP provides all orientation and preparation support.
What is the trip fee and what does it include?
Trip fees cover international flights from designated departure cities, ground transportation throughout Kenya, accommodations, meals, and all program materials. GDP provides a full cost breakdown when you register your interest. GDP also provides guidance on fundraising your trip fee through friends, family, and your church community — many participants fund the full fee through individual fundraising.
Is it safe to travel to Kenya with GDP?
GDP has operated in Kenya for 35 years and has deep, established trust with local communities, officials, and partners across the country. Our teams know Kenya intimately. All trips include thorough safety briefings, vetted local partners, and 24/7 GDP leadership support throughout the journey. We have taken hundreds of volunteers to Kenya safely over three decades.
What vaccinations and health preparation are needed?
GDP recommends all travelers consult a travel medicine clinic at least 6–8 weeks before departure. Common recommendations include Yellow Fever (required for entry to some areas), Typhoid, Hepatitis A & B, and malaria prophylaxis. GDP provides a detailed health preparation guide to all registered travelers, including recommended clinics and current requirements.
What cities and program sites will we visit?
The 2026 trip visited Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyahururu, Musoli Village in Western Kenya, and additional sites across the country. Program sites included Compassionate Children’s Home, Good Samaritans Children’s Home, St. Rita Evergreen Girls School, the GDP Multiplex Center (Mombasa), and the newly commissioned Musoli Empowerment Center. Exact itinerary varies by trip year — GDP provides full details when you register.
What is the GDP Multiplex Center in Mombasa?
The GDP Multiplex Center in Mombasa is a permanent facility that serves as a hub for GDP’s programs in the coastal region. It includes dormitories, classrooms, offices, an auditorium, a dining hall, and a kitchen — and hosted the 2026 Youth Summit and Women’s Empowerment Conference, drawing participants from across Kenya and Western Uganda.
How do I register for the next trip?
