Recognition in Kenya & the US

Verified. Awarded. Trusted.

Being recognized is not the goal — but it is the result of doing the work with integrity. GDP has earned independent recognition from Kenya’s NGO Coordination Board, US nonprofit watchdogs, and donor communities who have seen the work firsthand. You are part of an organization that Kenya is beginning to know by name.

Candid Platinum Seal
Awarded to the top tier of US nonprofits for maximum transparency in financials, leadership, and strategy. Fewer than 1 in 10 nonprofits achieve this level — GDP has held it two consecutive years.

Financial stewardship

How your gift moves
from here to there.

From the moment a donation is received to the moment it reaches a child, a woman, or a community — every step is tracked, documented, and reported. This is how we operate, and this is how we earn your continued trust.

Every gift is received and logged
Donations arrive through our verified US nonprofit structure (EIN 93-1730164) and are immediately allocated. No funds are held in undesignated accounts without clear purpose.
Funds are directed to active programs
The overwhelming majority of all funds go directly to the eight active programs in Kenya — children’s homes, St. Rita School, clean water, women’s empowerment, scholarships, humanitarian aid, youth leadership, and community centers. Administrative costs are kept minimal and are fully disclosed.
Field teams deploy resources on the ground
Our Nairobi-based leadership team — with decades of relationships in-country — oversees deployment directly. No third-party intermediaries. No unnecessary layers. GDP staff are in the communities they serve.
Outcomes are documented and reported
We publish annual financial accomplishment reports, mid-term reviews, and gallery documentation so you can see — with your own eyes — what your money built. Every year. No exceptions.
Candid Platinum verification confirms it all
Our Platinum seal from Candid (formerly GuideStar) is not self-reported — it requires verified disclosures of financials, leadership, strategy, and results. GDP has earned this distinction in both 2025 and 2026, placing us among the most transparent nonprofits in the United States.

“GDP is one of the most transparent and effective nonprofits I have ever supported. You can see exactly where your money goes — and feel it. This is what accountability looks like.”

— Karen Gaciuki, long-term donor & volunteer

The proof is in the paperwork.
And the people.
