9 programs active across East Africa today.
Every program below is operating right now — funded by your giving, led by our Kenyan team, changing lives every single day.
East Africa’s first trauma-informed residential school for girls.
What began as a sanctuary for 17 brave girls has become a model for the entire continent.
Girls arrive fleeing gender-based violence, forced marriage, and abandonment — and find safety, education, and healing. Founded by Dr. Phyllis Njoki Kagimbi. Fully supported by GDP.
Wells, boreholes, and storage tanks giving 2,000+ people safe daily water access across Kenya’s most vulnerable communities and orphanages.
5,500+ women annually through trauma care, vocational training, financial literacy, and 24/7 crisis support. Led by Patricia Wright. Also hosted at the Mombasa Multiplex Center.
Three homes and a special needs center providing safe housing, food, healthcare, education, and trained caregiving to 590+ children every day. Project of Hope · Good Samaritan · Compassionate Home.
Supporting students from GDP’s partner homes into secondary school, vocational training, and university. In 2025 alone, 11 new college students were enrolled — including Mercy Deborah Nyamuze, the first medical student from Good Samaritan Home.
12 youth leadership centres across Kenya, quarterly summits, crisis response for widows and families in Nairobi’s informal settlements, and next-generation leader development.
Quarterly field missions into one of Kenya’s most remote and underserved regions — mental wellness training, health outreach, emergency rescues, and a direct pipeline to St. Rita. Teen pregnancy rate 50% · illiteracy 76% · GDP goes in anyway.
Therapy support, specialized education, and daily care for children with special needs at the Project of Hope Children’s Home — including a newly built and fully furnished school and therapy clinic.
The buildings your giving literally constructed.
These are not programs — they are physical structures that will serve thousands for decades. Built from the ground up. Funded by your gifts. Standing today in Kenya.
A permanent regional hub on Kenya’s coast in Mombasa — built from the ground up by your giving. Dormitories, classrooms, kitchen, dining hall, and a 1,100-seat auditorium that has already hosted hundreds of youth and women from Kenya and Uganda.
“I came afraid. I left knowing I matter.” — Youth participant, 2025 Summit

In the heart of Maasai country — Kajiado, Kenya — GDP renovated 11 classrooms, installed solar energy throughout, and built teachers’ dormitories so teachers can live on-site. Grand Opening: October 25, 2025. Attendance has more than doubled.
“The Maasai elders honored Michael Wright by appointing him a ‘mzee’ — a wise elder and counselor.” GDP is not just a donor here. We are family.

11 renovated classrooms, 4 dorm rooms, new restrooms, and a brand-new therapy clinic for the Special Needs Center — all built by contracting 90% of the work to local Mathare fundis, injecting KSH 250,000+ into the community every single month.
From Mombasa in 1991 to the world in 2026.
Every project on this page is the result of 35 years of showing up in hard places and refusing to leave. Here is the arc of that commitment — from the first days in Kenya to where we stand today.
Seasonal projects — every year without fail.
Two annual campaigns that mobilize the entire GDP community and deliver tangible results to children and families across Kenya every year.
October of Hope
October is GDP’s Month of Giving — raising $15,000 to fund food and hygiene supplies, school supplies, emergency support for Osarai and St. Rita, and the entire “Season to Remember” for 530+ children in December.
A Season to Remember
Each December, the GDP team arrives at all three children’s homes with packed trucks, special meals, and a full day of celebration — the highlight of every child’s year. Something they would have never imagined. 530+ children given a season to remember.
Every project here began with one donation.
The Multiplex Center. The Osarai classrooms. The Samburu Project. St. Rita. Every single one started because one donor decided to give. You are that donor for whatever comes next. What will you build?
