Volunteer Eligibility & Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older; minors under 18 require written parental consent and supervision.

• Must possess a valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity beyond return date.

• Must be able to obtain a Kenyan Entry Visa (assistance provided).

• Must be medically fit for international travel and participating in volunteer activities. Doctor’s clearance required.

• Must purchase and maintain travel insurance covering trip duration.

• Must agree to all trip financial obligations and deadlines.

 

International Travel Advisory & Release of Liability

International Safety and Travel Advisory

The Global Development Project Kenya (GDP Kenya) prioritizes the safety and well-being of all volunteers. However, travel to underdeveloped areas carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Unpredictable security situations

• Limited medical facilities

• Harsh environmental conditions

• Transportation challenges

While GDP Kenya takes reasonable precautions, it cannot guarantee the health, safety, or comfort of participants during travel or service. Volunteers must exercise personal responsibility and vigilance at all times.

 

Volunteer Release & Waiver of Liability Agreement

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Global Development Project Kenya Volunteer Missions Trip (“Trip”), I, the undersigned, hereby agree as follows:

1. Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that travel and volunteer work in Kenya involve risks, dangers, and hazards that may cause injury, illness, or death, including but not limited to accidents, disease, political unrest, theft, and natural disasters. I knowingly and voluntarily accept these risks.

2. Release of Liability: I release, waive, and discharge Global Development Project Kenya, its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages arising from my participation in the Trip, including claims for negligence.

3. Medical Treatment: I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury or illness during the Trip. I understand that I am responsible for all medical costs incurred.

4. Compliance: I agree to comply with all rules, instructions, and policies set by GDP Kenya and local authorities during the Trip.

5. Photo and Media Release: I grant permission to GDP Kenya to use photographs, videos, and recordings of me taken during the Trip for promotional and educational purposes without compensation.

6. Governing Law: This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and any disputes shall be resolved in courts located therein.

Volunteer Agreement, Consent & Signature

By typing in my name below and submitting this agreement, I confirm that:

– I have read and understand all Trip information, advisories, requirements, and policies.

– I am physically and mentally fit to participate and have obtained medical clearance if required.

– I have arranged valid travel documents including passport and visa.

– I will purchased adequate travel insurance covering the full Trip duration.  (GDP Kenya can suggest types of travel insurance)

– I accept all financial obligations and refund policies related to this Trip.

– I agree to the Release of Liability and Waiver terms above.

– I understand that participation is voluntary and that I may withdraw at any time, subject to refund policy.
