Today, at 19, he is preparing for university — and spending his weekends mentoring younger children in the same home where he grew up. “I want to give them what this place gave me,” he says. “A future they didn’t know was possible.”
Before GDP drilled the well, girls walked four miles each way for water. After the borehole opened, enrollment jumped 40% within a single term.

Grace came to GDP’s women’s center as a survivor of domestic violence with no income. Two years later, she runs her own tailoring business and employs three other women from the program.
After catastrophic flooding hit Nairobi’s Mathare community in 2024, GDP was distributing food, water, and shelter materials to 600 families within 48 hours of the disaster.
Joseph joined GDP’s leadership center at 14. Last year he facilitated his first youth summit for 80 of his peers. “I used to think leadership was for other people,” he says.
