Global Development Project Thanks You!

Making An Incredible Difference!

Dear Friends, Donors, and Partners of Global Development Project (GDP),

On behalf of the entire GDP family — including the children and staff at the Good Samaritan Children’s Home, the Project of Hope Children’s Home, the Special Needs Center, and the St. Rita Evergreen Girls School in Nairobi and Nyahururu, Kenya — we extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to each of you. Your generosity, encouragement, and unwavering support have been nothing short of transformative, and we are profoundly thankful for your partnership in this journey.

Over the past two years, your kindness has fueled remarkable progress and hope in communities facing unimaginable challenges. Because of you, more than 450 widows in Nairobi’s slums have received critical food supplies, easing their daily struggles and restoring dignity to their lives. Your support has also helped provide clean water to entire facilities, improving health and wellbeing for countless children and staff.

In March 2025, GDP and Dr Phyllis Njoki launched the St. Rita Evergreen Girls School, a sanctuary for vulnerable girls who have endured gender-based violence, early forced marriage, and trauma. The school’s first intake of 22 girls — with over 2,000 more on the waiting list — is a testament to the urgent need and the hope we are creating together. One young 14 year old girl shared, “I thought my life was over, but this school has given me hope. I can finally stop crying.” These words reflect the profound impact your support has made in restoring faith, healing, and opportunity.

Our Women’s Empowerment and Youth Summits have also reached hundreds across Kenya, inspiring strength, leadership, and community. These initiatives, alongside our educational and trauma counseling programs, are changing lives and building futures — all because of your generosity.

Some sobering statistics remind us why this work is so vital: 1 in 3 Kenyan girls experiences sexual violence before age 16, 23% are married before 16, and over 13,000 teenage pregnancies were reported in Nairobi County alone in 2023. Your support is a lifeline in the face of these challenges, bringing safety, education, and hope where it is really needed.

Thank you for believing in our vision of “Extending Love and Hope Across Borders.” What began as a dream has blossomed into a powerful movement of compassion and change — and it is only possible because of you. Your partnership inspires us daily to persevere, to innovate, and to bring light into the lives of those who need it most.

Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or to learn more about our ongoing initiatives. Together, we are changing lives — one person at a time. Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Michael Wright
