Field Report from Kenya

Jambo (hello) from Nairobi Kenya E. Africa,

James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…” God has given us the mandate and we have engaged ourselves in it. Good Samaritan Children’s Home and Rehabilitation Center, Dream Children’s Home, and Early Childhood Learning Center are just a few of the orphanages and children’s homes we had the privilege of visiting. Nairobi itself has its own challenges. Days and sometimes weeks without water, rolling electricity blackouts and drought can often complicate a simple day’s task. But in the heart of the slums of Mathari, where the Good Samaritan Children’s Home is located, the challenges are multiplied. This children’s home is the first to feel the weight of these challenges and the last to see these challenges resolved. When there is very little elsewhere, there is usually none at these homes.

But…

Isaiah 49:10 says: “They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.” There’s no better way to describe God’s people who come to the aid of those in need!! We have been blessed to co-labor with such organizations, families, and individuals who become in material form, that compassion so desperately needed! As a result, God has enabled His people to meet the needs for this past month and the previous month. Without your compassion and help, this doesn’t happen! Thank you! And may the Lord continue to bless and keep you! Sincerely, Eric Wright Kenya Children’s Homes Operations Director
